What You Will Learn
This class is designed to address methods and tactics for concealed carry; to include the shooting aspects that potentially exist for this method, as well as the mental conditioning, personal awareness, and equipment components and considerations. The class will begin with a foundational lecture on using a concealed handgun for carry and personal defense. The morning session on day-one continues with an in-depth discussion on equipment pros and cons for the task of concealment as well as daily carry personal tactics and equipment designed for successful low visibility carriage.
The range components start by covering the basics of deploying a handgun for self-defense and move into working from concealment with various forms of covering garments. Students are encouraged to bring their actual carry guns, holsters, magazine carriers, back-up guns, and covering garments to allow for real-time vetting of their equipment and choices.
In addition to covering the fundamentals of safely carrying a concealed handgun (such as drawing, loading, etc) the course also covers managing threats, engaging moving targets, shooting on the move, communication, use of cover, and building searches/interior tactics during runs through the shoot house. Students can expect to shoot a nominal 1000 rounds over three days in an environment that allows them to test their concealed carry skills and equipment while being challenged through various shooting drills, courses of fire, and scored exercises.
