What You Will Learn
The AK Platform, like the AR-15 is one of the most prevalent and proven platforms on the planet. You can find them anywhere in the world, in many different configurations, and varied calibers. Ultimately, the AK is legendary and here to stay.
This Urban Rifle course is designed to highlight the best attributes of the AK, in its best operational spectrum: 0-300 yards. With a heavy emphasis on close-in urban employment, positional shooting (mostly just Slav squats), marksmanship, and optimizing manipulation, you will walk away with a better foundation, no matter your current level of skill.
Day one begins with a brief historical overview and a little bit of show and tell. We quickly dive into zero confirmation, setup optimization, manipulation, and then immediately into the wavetops of the hallmark Urban Rifle class that has been developed and fine tuned for decades, including:.
Shoothouse runs
Shots to 300 yards and beyond
Countless reps focusing on movement, communication, and marksmanship
This class will give you what you need on the AK platform.
“The AK is amongst the simplest guns to understand and learn on, it is rugged and reliable. Properly zeroed and supported it will serve you well. If we had twenty minutes to provide a minimal amount of training on a platform to a bunch of double digit IQ conscripts or malnourished Somali Pirates, this would be the weapon of choice.”
IMPORTANT - We cannot overstate the importance of medical training. Every class at Thunder Ranch includes a med block.
Every participant must have a genuine (no generic brands) North American Rescue CAT, RMT ratcheting, or SOF®T tourniquet on their person during class.
If you do not own one of the approved TQ’s you may purchase a CAT7 or RMT during checkout or upon arrival at Thunder Ranch.
